  • Configuration Management Analyst

    Geodesicx is seeking a  Management Analyst  to join our TacMobile Project team providing logistical support NIWC. Responsibilities : Process receipt of new software from internal and external sources- identify and document information functional information. Coordinate with CM for assignment of CM numbers. Manage and track complete software disc media inventory. Process receipt of media hard drives from internal and external sources to include assignment of CM numbers and documentation of relevant part numbers and serial numbers. Manage and track stored inventory of hard drive media. Create and process proper documentation for classified media and label media with required information. Provide software reproduction and distribution support. Process software and hardware media for shipment to include packaging media, preparing required shipping documentation and coordinating pickup. Perform inventory of classified material as required. Maintain required oversite of Secure Room to ensure all security processes and mandates are followed.   Qualifications: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.     Geodesicx, Inc. has a full-time job opportunity for someone with hardware engineering support experience to support the U.S. Coast Guard's Command, Control, and Communications Engineering Center in Portsmouth, VA. General Description:  Supports installation, testing, verification, repair, diagnostic analysis, and calibration of various systems. Read, draft, and update system drawings, blueprints, bills of materials, and technical manuals; provide oral, written, and on-site troubleshooting assistance; and assist in preparing, reviewing, and managing technical documentation, instructions, procedures, and staging lists. Specific Duties:   Provide hardware, simulator, and sensor troubleshooting and support of laboratories, training classrooms, and fielded systems. Ensure the lab hardware baselines are properly configured to support all development and testing activities.   • Mission Planning Test Analyst

    Mission Planning Test Analyst Geodesicx is seeking a Mission Planning Test Analyst to join our United States Navy TacMobile Project team in support of NIWC Atlantic. Responsibilities: Provide support to the Mission Planning (MP) Integrated Product Team (IPT) in support of engineering and software test efforts for the TacMobile program. Subject Matter Expert in various Mission Planning tools, applications, and Tactical Decision Aids (TDA’s). Represent the TacMobile Project & MP IPT at various meetings, forums, working groups as required and report results/action items Support the change request process pertaining to Mission Planning software applications & tools. Develop Mission Planning training materials for use in Fleet Introductory Training (FIT) and the TacMobile Schoolhouse Fleet Formal Training (FFT).  Support the fielding and training of Mission Planning software applications & tools. Qualifications: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Mission Planning or similar technical field with a minimum of 2 years of mission planning experience performed within the past 3 years.   • Project Manager

    We are seeking an experienced Project Manager. The successful candidate will coordinate all of Geodesicx’s efforts in the Mid-Atlantic Region including shipboard/ashore C5ISR installations, marine electronics depot repairs, FMS projects, and marine electronics sales. Responsibilities include compiling project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, and identifying and resolving technical problems. Identifies and analyzes systems requirements and defines project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Coordinates project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately.   Responsibilities : Performs analysis and evaluation throughout the process, application, system, development life-cycle which includes, but is not limited to: planning, requirements, design, acquisition, development, integration, installation/deployment, performance tuning, testing, or training. Performs, or may direct, the development and preparation of detailed analysis and solution recommendations at various stages of a project life-cycle.  Attends and may facilitate meetings to support the accurate delivery of products/assets to the end user. Serves as a liaison between functional and technical specialists. Supervises project team leads and technical/non-technical personnel. Ensures, compliance with, and/or may develop, the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments.  Performs configuration management and asset tracking duties. Analyze Requests for Proposals/Quotes and assist in developing technical and pricing sections of proposal. Assist in developing opportunities for new business.   Qualifications : A minimum of 10 years of experience working on and managing C5ISR projects or production. PMP a plus. MS Office (including Project and Access) and Visio experience. Experience with the FAR and government contracting. Perform general manual labor tasks including running errands, sweeping, loading, lifting, standing fire watches, cable placement and rigging, pulling sheathed cables through ducts and stuffing tubes, and moving equipment / material. Periodically required to lift / move equipment up to and including 50 pounds. Works under direct supervision following clear and detailed instructions. May be assigned the duties and responsibilities of other positions for which qualifications are met. Specific   description of duties : To include but are not limited to assisting in storage and staging of various tools / materials; transportation of tools / material to the worksite; loading and unloading vehicles; general cleanup / daily housekeeping; standing fire watch; pulling cable; and heavy lifting of tools / material / equipment. Overtime is routinely required but not guaranteed. Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization’s mission, objectives and goals.     Engineer Technician III Geodesicx, Inc. is seeking an Engineer Technician III capable of performing a variety of engineering/technical tasks, including but not limited to equipment repair, cabling, inspections, installations, modifications, and maintenance of electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment. Candidate should be a proficient C5ISR system installer with prior practical experience with Department of Defense, Coast Guard, and/or major commercial telecommunications services or equipment provider. Must be able to interpret specifications, drawings, and blueprints. Position will be based out of Chesapeake, VA with travel required to various work sites throughout the region. Skills and Abilities: Able to understand and comply with drawings completed in accordance with the SPAWAR/NIWC Afloat Installation Process Handbook Highly skilled and experienced in the safe and efficient operation of common installation power and hand tools including hand-held saws, drills, hole punches, levels, crimpers, fusion splicers, and conduit benders Skilled in the operation of all commonly used installation test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, voltmeters, VSWR meters, Bit-Error Rate Test Sets, and Category 5e/6 cable testers Expert in attaching fiber optic connectors, RJ-45 connectors, and DB type connectors, and when dressing cable installations so that the finished product presents a well-organized and professional appearance Maintain a consistent record of good workmanship and compliance to standards Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc. Work with a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR installations Must be able to work in high heat, confined spaces, climb shipyard and dry dock ladders/stairs, work in a kneeling position for cable layouts under false decking, and lift up to 50 pounds Experience:   At least eight (08) years as an installer of C5ISR equipment for the Department of Defense, Coast Guard and/or major telecommunications services/equipment provider. At least four (04) of the 8 years must include C5ISR installations in support of the Department of Defense/Coast Guard and at least two (02) of the 8 years must include U.S. Navy C5ISR installations. Education:   Associates degree in related engineering field preferred. Certifications/Licenses:  CPR certification BICSI Installer I certification ASNT NDT III certification Valid driver’s license Other Requirements: Must be able to pass background check for access to Shipyards and/or Naval Bases Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. Government contract requirement)

Skills and Abilities: Familiar with NAVSEA standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of electronics repair, fabrication, and installation Ability to follow assembly drawings and instructions, including Cable Running Sheets Installation of electronic equipment, ducts, cableways, cables, and high-density cable connectors Assemble cable harnesses – soldering with low voltage soldering devices and coaxial connectors Assemble small mechanical parts in accordance with fabrication/assembly drawings Maintain a consistent record of good workmanship and compliance with standards Work with a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR installations Must be able to work in high heat, confined spaces, climb shipyard and dry dock ladders/stairs, work in a kneeling position for cable layouts under false decking, and lift up to 50 pounds Experience:   Five to eight (08) years as an installer of C5ISR equipment for the Department of Defense, Coast Guard and/or major telecommunications services/equipment provider.
