  • Drafter

    Geodesicx is seeking a Drafter to join our team in support of the LAV-C2 program in Charleston, SC.  Successful candidates must be able to operate in a collaborative, team environment and be able to adjust to changing priorities and tasking. Knowledge of at least one of the below programs is required: Solidworks (prefered) Inventor CREO Auto Cad General Requirements: Familiarity with the ASME Y14 series of standards for Engineering Drawings.   Experience in generating fabrication drawings (Metalwork, cabling), 3-D models and assemblies, and Assembly drawings. Working knowledge with manufacturing/fabrication would be preferred. Experience/Education: High School Diploma or Equivelent Associates Degree in Engineering Technology (preferred) 2 yrs. of comparable work experience

  • Configuration Management Analyst

    Geodesicx is seeking a  Management Analyst  to join our TacMobile Project team providing logistical support to SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SSC-LANT). Responsibilities : Process receipt of new software from internal and external sources- identify and document information functional information. Coordinate with CM for assignment of CM numbers. Manage and track complete software disc media inventory. Process receipt of media hard drives from internal and external sources to include assignment of CM numbers and documentation of relevant part numbers and serial numbers. Manage and track stored inventory of hard drive media. Create and process proper documentation for classified media and label media with required information. Provide software reproduction and distribution support. Process software and hardware media for shipment to include packaging media, preparing required shipping documentation and coordinating pickup. Perform inventory of classified material as required. Maintain required oversite of Secure Room to ensure all security processes and mandates are followed.   Qualifications: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using CMPro and/or IBM Rational JAZZ Existing  active DoD Secret Security clearance Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Strong work ethic, attention to detail, professional appearance, able to work in team environment.

  • Project Manager

    Job Description: Geodesicx is searching for a Project Manager for an upcoming program providing SAFe Agile Software Development support to the USAF. The program will implement SAFe Agile methodologies, transitioning applications to a hosted cloud environment. The project manager will be responsible for overall management of the program and customer relations. They will interact with the Product Owner for key audits, briefings, and reporting. The project manager will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the project to include creating and executing project work plans, managing project schedules, coordinating peer reviews, providing effective, efficient leadership and control of Agile operations and development methods and results. Leadership includes implementation of as-needed coaching for Agile Team members (including Government and contractor personnel), risk management, and quality assurance processes to record, evaluate, and fine-tune all phases of the development pipeline. Will oversee and may assist with the full system development lifecycle in an agile environment, including requirements definition and user stories, detail design, testing, deployment, and maintenance, and will be responsible for life cycle and project management documentation. A key component to the requirement is the ability to manage remote teams, including staff, customers, and partners located across the country. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management or other related technical discipline. Four additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.   • Shipyard Laborer / Helper / Fire Watch / Cable Puller

    Shipyard Laborer / Helper / Fire Watch / Cable Puller General Description  – Geodesicx, Inc. is seeking a laborer / helper / fire watch / cable puller to support shipboard maintenance work in Norfolk, VA. Perform general manual labor tasks including running errands, sweeping, loading, lifting, standing fire watches, cable placement and rigging, pulling sheathed cables through ducts and stuffing tubes, and moving equipment / material. Periodically required to lift / move equipment up to and including 50 pounds. Works under direct supervision following clear and detailed instructions. May be assigned the duties and responsibilities of other positions for which qualifications are met. Specific   description of duties : To include but are not limited to assisting in storage and staging of various tools / materials; transportation of tools / material to the worksite; loading and unloading vehicles; general cleanup / daily housekeeping; standing fire watch; pulling cable; and heavy lifting of tools / material / equipment. Overtime is routinely required but not guaranteed. Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization’s mission, objectives and goals. Install cables in shipboard cableways using approved methods. This requires the ability to climb ladders, physically pull the cable and knowledge of proper installation methods. Possess a demonstrated ability and knowledge of the principles of electricity, electronics, shipboard and/or shore installations and shop supervision. Familiar with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentation. Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, technical manuals, handbooks and other technical documentation. Push long, flexible, steel ribbon (fish tape) or rods through ducts. Attaches wire to rod or fish tape and pulls wire through ducts. Attaches wire to cable and pull cable through ducts by hand or using winch. Properly secure and band cables once pulls are approved. Monitor a prescribed area of concern and keeping records of any suspicious or potentially hazardous conditions as required. Activate appropriate alarms and promptly contacting emergency response personnel as necessary. Use phones and wireless communication devices to share concerns and information with associates as well as people at high-risk locations. Ensures, compliance with, the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments. ​ Education / Specialized training Minimum education requirement: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a basic understanding of standard power tools and possess the ability to read / follow simple instructions. Prior experience working on ships and in shipyards is a plus. OSHA 10 Hours Maritime and NAVSEA Cableway, Connector and Fiber Certifications are preferred. Excellent vision is essential. Attention to detail observing using all senses and multiple methods; eyes, smell, closed-circuit cameras and monitoring remote alarm and security systems is a required skill. Excellent communication abilities to inform the fire watch person who takes over the next shift of any abnormalities or concerns that need close observation. Lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Work at heights up to 50 feet above the deck using proper safety equipment. Must be able to pass background check for access to Shipyards and/or Naval Bases.

Candidate should be a proficient C5ISR system installer with prior practical experience with Department of Defense, Coast Guard, and/or major commercial telecommunications services or equipment provider. Must be able to interpret specifications, drawings, and blueprints. Position will be based out of Chesapeake, VA with travel required to various work sites throughout the region. Skills and Abilities: Able to understand and comply with drawings completed in accordance with the SPAWAR/NIWC Afloat Installation Process Handbook Highly skilled and experienced in the safe and efficient operation of common installation power and hand tools including hand-held saws, drills, hole punches, levels, crimpers, fusion splicers, and conduit benders Skilled in the operation of all commonly used installation test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, voltmeters, VSWR meters, Bit-Error Rate Test Sets, and Category 5e/6 cable testers Expert in attaching fiber optic connectors, RJ-45 connectors, and DB type connectors, and when dressing cable installations so that the finished product presents a well-organized and professional appearance Maintain a consistent record of good workmanship and compliance to standards Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc. Work with a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR installations Must be able to work in high heat, confined spaces, climb shipyard and dry dock ladders/stairs, work in a kneeling position for cable layouts under false decking, and lift up to 50 pounds Experience:   At least eight (08) years as an installer of C5ISR equipment for the Department of Defense, Coast Guard and/or major telecommunications services/equipment provider.   • Program Manager

    We are seeking an experienced Program Manager. The successful candidate will coordinate all of Geodesicx’s efforts in the Mid-Atlantic Region including shipboard/ashore C5ISR installations, marine electronics depot repairs, FMS projects, and marine electronics sales. Responsibilities include compiling project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, and identifying and resolving technical problems. Identifies and analyzes systems requirements and defines project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Coordinates project activities and ensures all project phases are documented appropriately.   Responsibilities : Performs analysis and evaluation throughout the process, application, system, development life-cycle which includes, but is not limited to: planning, requirements, design, acquisition, development, integration, installation/deployment, performance tuning, testing, or training. Performs, or may direct, the development and preparation of detailed analysis and solution recommendations at various stages of a project life-cycle.  Attends and may facilitate meetings to support the accurate delivery of products/assets to the end user. Serves as a liaison between functional and technical specialists. Supervises project team leads and technical/non-technical personnel. Ensures, compliance with, and/or may develop, the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments.  Performs configuration management and asset tracking duties. Analyze Requests for Proposals/Quotes and assist in developing technical and pricing sections of proposal. Assist in developing opportunities for new business.   Qualifications : A minimum of 10 years of experience working on and managing C5ISR projects or production. PMP a plus. MS Office (including Project and Access) and Visio experience. Experience with the FAR and government contracting. CMPro and VPMS experience. IUID experience a plus. Ability to professionally represent the project to both the customer and senior management. Experience scheduling complex processes to ensure timelines are met. Experience with the Navy and/or Coast Guard a plus.   Educational Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or IT related field required.   Security Clearance : Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance.  An active SECRET clearance is seen as a plus.
